Roman Kaliszan

Roman Kaliszan, member of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1998, the ScanBalt Academy since 2006 and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2009, graduated with a concentration in Pharmaceutics from the Medical University of Gdańsk in 1968 and in Physics from the University of Gdańsk in 1973. He obtained both Ph.D. and D.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry from the Medical University of Gdańsk, where he is currently a Full Professor since 1990 and where he was President (Rector) in term 2005-2008. He spent several years as visiting scientist at the University of Edinburgh, Rutgers University, SUNY at Binghamton and McGill University. In his publication record are 20 books and 250 full length articles on analytical, physical and medicinal chemistry as well as on molecular pharmacology and bioanalytics. He served in editorial boards of 9 international journals. In 2003 he was awarded the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science.
